External Ventricular Drainage (EVD) is used to drain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and reduce intracranial pressure (ICP). which is connected to a drainage system and monitoring system. EVD catheters can be made of clear silicone tubing or radiopaque silicone tubing (impregnated with barium) or a combination of clear silicone tubing with barium tape.
