Disposable Neutral Electrode Plate

The single-edged disposable plate of the surgical electrocautery is installed in a part of the body that has good blood supply. The installation site must be free of hair and away from electrocardiography electrodes. In the monopolar electrosurgery device, electric current is applied to the patient for cutting or coagulation through the return electrode. The double-edged disposable plate of the surgical electrocautery should be placed far from the surgical site. The electric current is returned to the device after spreading in the patient’s body. The current used to cut the tissue varies according to the age and weight of the patient. Therefore, the surface of the return electrode is made in three sizes for babies, children and adults. Depending on the type of cautery device, it can be available in two types, single-edged and double-edged, and depending on the type of surgery, it can be horizontal or vertical, made of foam or fabric.
